International Course on Nursi Studies was held in Istanbul

The Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture, having a mission of
spreading the Risale-i Nur not only in domestic but also international academic
circle, organized an academic training course for students of Master’s and Doctorate
degree from Turkey, Europe, United States in order to introduce the Risale-i
Nur and to assist them in understanding the Risale-i Nur.
On
4-15 July, the students found the chance to gather with scholars from different
areas and experts of the Risale-i Nur movement. Scholars gave lectures on
various topics such as: “Problem of Mentality in Academic Researches”,
“The Methodology of Understanding the Risale-i Nur Philosophically”,
“Transition from Ottoman to Republic”, “Theological Frame of Mind and the Method
of the Qur’an: Comparative Approach” and “Some Ideas About Old Said - New Said
Period.”
The
course’s schedule
includes academic seminars until noon and then talks on the Risale-i Nur
Collection. In afternoon parts of the program, Mehmet Fırıncı, the student of
Bediüzzaman Said Nursi, İhsan Kasım Salihi, who translated the Risale-i Nur in
Arabic and Ali Katıoz, who has given presentations in Risale-i Nur Symposiums,
gave speeches to students about the Risale-i Nur. This program offered an
opportunity for students who want to focus on the Risale-i Nur from various
perspectives and to understand Nur community well.
The
dinner on July 11, 2009 pepped up this program. In this meeting, the students
and friends of The Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture came together
and the students introduced themselves and explained their theses in
detail.
