Ayetul Kubra Translation Welcomed by Universities in Jakarta and Palembang 2009-05-29 02:12:40
With
the completion of Indonesian translations of the Ayetul Kubra (The Supreme
Sign) introductory seminars about the treatise have been organised in Jakarta
and Palembang. Academics and students at both the Syarif Hidayatullah State
Islamic University (UIN) in Jakarta and Palembang Islamic Institute in
Palembang attended seminars held on location. Presentations and talks on
Ayetul Kubra were warmly welcomed by speakers and participants.
The seminar in Jakarta (UIN) took place on the 14th May 2009. Head of
Department for Usuliddin Aqidah and Philosophy at the university, Dr.
Syamsuri and Dr. Nur Rofiah, who studied extensively in Turkey were
on the panel of speakers talking about the significance of Ayetul Kubra.
Dr Rofiah stated that “the audience of this book are scholars who
look at this world without awareness of faith and the faithful who want
to learn how to read the natural verses in creation.”
A day before, on 13 May 2009, another forum in Palembang was held at
the IAIN Raden Fatah State Islamic Institute. Dr Ismail Sukardi from
the Islamic Education Faculty at the Institute provided a recount on
the important messages conatined in Ayetul Kubra. Dr Sukardi mentioned
that as a method, Ustad Said Nursi used analogies as it is used in the
Quran to explore the unity of Allah and all his names and attributes
manifested. Secretary of Forum Ukhuwah Ulama Umara,
H. Omer Said, stated that “Bediuzzaman combined the heart and the
mind when writing Ayetul Kubra. Because he feared Allah alone, he manifested
the Quranic term ULUL ELBAB meaning he only directs his attention to
Allah and seeks Allah’s pleasure in all his actions.”
Both venues also had an en exhibition and sample of the translations
of other treatises from the Risale-i Nur Collection. For more information
